Happy New Year!

So it's been a while since I have updated. A lot has been going on.
Christmas was really nice. Jackson got everything he wanted I think and more. He had an absolute blast this year. He is playing his Wii from Santa as we speak! We took the Wii over to Brads dads on Christmas and had a Wright Family Bowling Tournament. It was a lot of fun. But the next morning, I realized how pathetic and out of shape I was when I went to open the door to let the dog out. My right arm hurt so bad from bowling on Thursday. Big Nerd. Right here.

Today Jackson went to the doctor because he woke up crying at 5 am and finally got it out that his ear was hurting. Ok, the last time he woke up in the middle of the night crying that his ear hurt, he had ruptured an ear drum. I figured thats what had happened this morning. So Brad took him to the doctor and yep, busted ear drum. Doctor says that he is really surprised that he is showing he isn't in any pain with how bad his ear is. He just cried once this morning. And had been bouncing around all last night. So this child has got to have a high tolerance for pain. I do feel bad for him. He cried this evening when I put the numbing drops in his ear.

Tomorrow is NEW YEARS EVE!! Everyone excited?? I am. We aren't doing anything crazy. Just going over to a friends house and playing Wii and maybe some Trivial Pursuit. I am excited though. New Years Resolutions?? I can't think of any right now. I guess I need to give it some thought since tomorrow ends 2008! What are yours?

aahhh....the weekend

Well it's been a while since I blogged. I have been meaning to but just never got around to it. welcome to my life......
This kinda has been a long week for me since last week I only worked 2 days and had 5 days off. Everyone I think would have a hard time coming back. And I haven't been too busy....you know, with all the reading I have done this week. I am reading the book Twilight. It's the first in the Twilight Series. Never thought I would read it but it has turned out to be a VERY good book. One of those that you can't put down. Although right now, they have me doing some work (what are they thinking) and I find myself looking at the book like it was a piece of chocolate. Wanting to not do anything and just read. but....I am sure I will find some time this weekend to finish it.
We are taking Jackson to see Santa this weekend. He really wants to tell Santa that he wants a Wii and that old mans gonna get all the credit! Oh well....I can't wait to see his on Christmas morning.
oh and right now...it's snowing, well flurries...but whats the diff. and it's 20 DEGREES! Seriously!
Well I better get back to my work. Happy Friday!

It's TUESDAY!

and that means....my last day of work until next Monday! Woo-hoo!! I am so excited. I'm definitely ready for a few days off. AND...some good food! and speaking of food, I made these little pumpkin mousse things last night to bring into work today. Aren't they cute?? I hate pumpkin and so does Brad, but he was a good man and tried it anyway.

*side note* just because this happened. I am a receptionist and I HATE when the magazine people call to "update your mailing address for a free subscription". They call ALL THE TIME. I am sure that since you called 2 days ago, that our location HAS NOT CHANGED!
ok...rant over.
Ohhhh I love love love the Real Housewives show. This season in Atlanta, not the greatest, but I still watch. Well the reunion is tonight and those girls look crazy!!! But the Orange County one is right after and I can't wait.
Well, I can't think of anything else right off the top of my little head, so I will close this post but when I do think of something, I'll let you know!

It's totally a day for a cupcake

Well since this is my first blog, let me introduce....myself (Austin Powers style). I am Niqui and am almost 27. If you remember back in grade school, those 1/2's, counted. But when you get to be my age they don't anymore. I have a husband and a son. Husbands name is Brad and sons is Jackson. He is the light of my life. Such an amazing little guy. He just turned 4 this month. We also have a dog and 4 cats. So there is always something going on at my house.

I guess I should get to the part about why the name of my blog has to do with cupcakes. I am a cupcake freak! I love to bake them and I love to eat them!!! And today is a cupcake eating day. So much in fact that I brought 2, count them 2, to work today. You see, we have been trying to conceive our 2nd child and today that stupid witch (AF) showed her ugly head this morning. (Maybe TMI for some of you) But, I am OVER her. She gives me AWFUL cramps and just makes me want to rip someones face off. Pleasant, aren't I? So, Midol is going to be my friend today.

But on the bright side, it's Friday! Yee-haw! It's been a long week at work and I suppose that has something to do with the fact that I am only working 2 days next week then off for 5! I have a Lia Sophia party scheduled for tomorrow at my house. Which I am not too excited about. Do't know why but I am sure I will be fine tomorrow. Today, I am just full of PMS.
